Freelance Womenswear Designer & Maternity Cover (Product Development Lead for 6 Months) APPLY NOW

For LIV, the women’s line of Labfresh, we are looking for a freelance womenswear designer to collaborate with us on a long-term basis.

LIV is a relatively new brand, and focuses on creating minimal, versatile womenswear that combines clean design with innovative fabrics and functional features. As we continue to build and shape the brand, we are looking for a designer who can help us strengthen our product direction and support us in developing strong, consistent collections.

The collaboration would include support with trend and color forecasting, collection design, and further developing our product assortment. An important goal is to create collections where pieces naturally work together and can easily be mixed and matched throughout the season.

In addition to seasonal collections, we also aim to further strengthen our NOS (Never Out of Stock) collection by identifying key styles, refining existing products, and building a strong and timeless core assortment.

As part of this collaboration, we would be looking for support with:

• Trend & Color Direction – Translating relevant trends into colors, fabrics, and concepts that fit the LIV brand.
• Collection Design – Designing seasonal styles that create a strong and balanced collection.
• Collection Building – Developing a range where products complement each other and can easily be mixed and matched.
• NOS Development – Strengthening and expanding our core styles that remain relevant beyond seasons.
• Fit Optimization (if possible) – Supporting in improving garment fit to further elevate product quality.

We are looking for someone with a strong product eye, a good understanding of trends, and experience in building cohesive, wearable womenswear collections.

Requirements

• You have experience in womenswear design
• Be in our office (Amsterdam)
• You are proactive & independent 
• Has a strong sense of trends, color, and product
• Has a good understanding of fabrics (experience with innovative materials is a plus)
• Fluent in English (Dutch is considered a plus) 

Additional scope – Maternity Cover (September–March):

From mid-September until mid-March, we are looking for extended support to cover a maternity leave. During this period, the role will become more hands-on and operational, with an expected commitment of 2–3 fixed days per week, based in our Amsterdam office.

In this period, the designer would take on a more leading role within product development, including:

• Ownership of product development
• Responsibility for two seasonal collections (for both LIV and Labfresh)
• Close collaboration with the team across design and development

The collaboration will be freelance with a fixed monthly commitment of approximately 15–20 hours (2–3 days per month), working closely with our team during key moments in the development process, with the ambition to build a long-term partnership.
